Overall Summary

Strengths

Strength 1: Excellent balance and posture throughout the swing, maintaining a stable base and consistent spine angle.

Strength 2: Strong rotational mechanics, effectively using the hips to initiate the swing and creating a solid kinetic sequence.

Areas For Improvement

Improvement 1: Increasing dynamic stretch during the load phase will unlock greater power potential. Focus on creating more separation between the hands and the front hip.

Improvement 2: While mechanics are sound off the tee, continue to challenge timing and plate coverage against live pitching and off-speed pitches.

Recommended Drills

1

Separation Fence Drill

Focus

Load & Separation

Execution

In your stance facing a fence, place the bat knob against it. As you stride, focus on keeping the knob on the fence as long as possible to feel the stretch across your torso before initiating the swing.

2

Step-Back Drill

Focus

Hip Drive & Sequencing

Execution

From your normal stance, take a short step back with your rear foot, then immediately step forward with your stride foot into the swing. This exaggerates the load on the back hip and promotes a powerful, hip-led rotation.

3

Opposite Field Front Toss

Focus

Bat Path & Extension

Execution

Have a partner toss balls to the outer half of the plate. Focus on letting the ball travel deep, keeping hands inside the ball, and driving it to the opposite field. This reinforces a long bat path through the zone.
