Recommended Drills

1

Connection Ball Drill

Focus

Keeping Hands Inside the Ball

Execution

Place a small, soft ball in the hitter’s back armpit. The hitter must keep the ball in place during the load and the start of the swing. The ball should only fall out as the hands extend towards the contact point. This drill forces the back elbow to stay connected to the body, preventing 'casting'.

2

High Tee Drill

Focus

Flattening Bat Path

Execution

Set a tee at the top of the strike zone. The objective is to hit a line drive without chopping down. This forces the hitter to get the barrel on plane behind the ball and swing on a flatter plane, correcting a steep or downward attack angle.

3

Step-Back Balance Drill

Focus

Front Leg Stability & Rotational Force

Execution

Start in your normal stance. Step your front foot back to meet your back foot, then immediately stride forward and swing. This exaggerates the weight shift and forces the hitter to land on a stable, firm front leg to effectively transfer energy and maintain balance.
