Recommended Drills

1

Two-Tee Drill (Inside/Outside)

Focus

Plate Coverage & Adjustability

Execution

Set one tee on the inside corner and another on the outside corner. Alternate swings between the two, focusing on keeping hands inside the ball for the inside pitch and letting the ball travel to drive it to the opposite field for the outside pitch.

2

Step-Back Drill

Focus

Rhythm and Separation

Execution

Start with feet together. Step back with your rear foot to simulate a load, then immediately stride forward into your swing. This drill exaggerates the feeling of loading against the back hip and creating separation.

3

Offset Open Stance Drill

Focus

Hip Drive & Front Side Discipline

Execution

Take an open stance with the tee positioned on the outer half of the plate. The goal is to hit line drives to the opposite field, which forces the hitter to stay closed with the front side and use the hips to direct the ball.
