Recommended Drills

1

Torso Separation Drill

Focus

Hip and Torso Separation

Execution

Start in your stride position with a bat held across your shoulders. Without moving your upper body, rotate your hips toward the ‘pitcher’ and then back. Feel the stretch across your core. Progress to full swings focusing on this feeling.

2

High Tee Drill

Focus

Bat Path Correction

Execution

Place a tee at the top of the strike zone. The objective is to hit a line drive without chopping down. This forces the swing path to flatten out and get on plane behind the ball, rather than coming down on it.

3

Two Tee Zone Entry Drill

Focus

Barrel in Zone

Execution

Set up two tees: one at the desired contact point and a second tee about 12 inches behind it and slightly lower. The goal is to clip the back tee and drive through the ball on the front tee, training the barrel to get in the zone early and stay long.
